Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") forms part of the Platform Terms. It exists to keep the VelaCommerce ecosystem safe for merchants, customers, and our payment and delivery partners.
Prohibited goods and services
- Firearms, ammunition, and explosives.
- Controlled substances and any drug paraphernalia.
- Tobacco and vaping products sold to minors or in breach of TVCSA.
- Counterfeit goods, replica items, and goods that infringe third-party intellectual property.
- Live animals and protected wildlife products (CITES).
- Sexually explicit material involving minors or non-consenting adults.
- Stolen goods, or goods of unverifiable provenance.
- Financial products requiring FSCA authorisation that the merchant does not hold.
- Any item whose sale would breach South African law.
Prohibited conduct
- Attempting to defeat security controls, rate limits, or tenant isolation.
- Scraping, mass-downloading, or otherwise extracting platform data beyond your own tenant.
- Sending unsolicited bulk messages ("spam") using platform email.
- Misrepresenting business identity, registration status, or location to customers or partners.
- Using the Platform to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or sanctions evasion.
Reporting
Report suspected AUP breaches to abuse@velacommerce.co.za. We investigate every report.
Enforcement
Breach of this AUP may result in content removal, account suspension, or immediate termination under section 9 of the Platform Terms. Severe breaches may be reported to law enforcement.
